Mohsen Tanabandeh grabs Fajr best actor title

Noted Iranian actor Mohsen Tanabandeh has been awarded the best actor title at Fajr Festival.

Acclaimed Iranian actor Mohsen Tanabandeh has been presented the best actor title at Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

Tanabandeh grabbed Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the festival for ‘Ferrari’.

Mohsen Tanabandeh has studied acting at University of Art and Architecture.

He began theater acting in 1992 and appeared in his first cinematic movie in 2001.

Tanabandeh has acted in a number of movies, including ‘Tiny Snow Flicks’ (2003), ‘How Much for You to Cry?’ (2005), ‘A Time for Love’ (2007), ‘St. Petersburg’ (2009), ‘Iran Burger’ (2014), ‘Lamp 100’ (2014) and ‘Guinness’ (2014).

He has also appeared in some series such as ‘A Message from the Afterlife’ (2008), ‘Escort Officer’ (2008), ‘Four Walls’ (2009), ‘The Capital 1’ (2010), ‘The Capital 2’ (2012), ‘The Capital 3’ (2013), ‘The Idiot’ (2014), and ‘The Capital 4’ (2015).

Tanabandeh has received Crystal Simorghs of the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for ‘Testimony for God’ (2007) and the Best Actor in a Leading Role for ‘The First Stone’ (2009) and ‘Seven Minutes to Autumn’ (2009) from Fajr Film Festival.

In addition to acting, he has experienced working as script writer and casting director.

Ferrari’ directed by Alireza Davoudnejad depicts the interests and dreams of a young teenage girl who embarks on a journey to turn her dreams into reality. Golnar, an 18-year-old girl, leaves her town for the metropolitan Tehran to take a picture with a Ferrari sports car.

The closing ceremony of 35th Fajr Film Festival was held on Thursday with Crystal Simorgh awards given to best nominees in each competitive category of the event.

Fajr Festivals are held annually in Iran during the Fajr Decade (literally meaning ten days of dawn), which marks the anniversary of the ten days from the return of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic, to Iran (February 1) until the victory day of the Islamic Revolution (February 11) in 1979.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.
